At our office there is an active Multidisciplinary Obesity Pathway, dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of patients with overweight and obesity through an integrated medical, nutritional and motor approach.

The route includes a internal medicine visit with Dr. Giovanni Longo, during which the following will be collected:

  • Complete anthropometric and biochemical cardiovascular risk data
  • Metabolic assessment and thorough medical history
  • Including a free consultation with our gym professionals.

The aim is to establish the possible eligibility for treatment with new anti-obesity drugs (incretin drugs) and set up a personalized and sustainable program.

  • Blood count
  • Total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides
  • ALT, AST, GGT
  • Creatinine, urea
  • Serum sodium, potassium, calcium
  • TSH
  • Uricemia
  • Blood sugar, glycated HB
  • Optional, if not previously performed: LpA, Apo B100.

Please bring all your medical records from the last 2-3 years (tests, specialist visits, etc.) to your appointment.

A comprehensive approach, not just pharmacological

Drug therapy, when indicated, is always accompanied by:

  • Specific and personalized dietary recommendations
  • Insertion into a path of adapted physical exercise, carried out directly at our gym

It is essential to start a treatment program at the same time as the drug. muscle strengthening, since incretin drugs cause a significant loss of fat mass but can, in the absence of adequate muscle stimulation and protein intake, also promote a reduction in lean mass.

This effect is preventable through a structured program of counter-resistance exercise, calibrated to the individual patient, taking into account:

  • Training level
  • Available time
  • Personal motivation
  • Any comorbidities

Our goal is not just weight loss, but improved body composition, metabolic health and long-term quality of life.
